New York Yankees Starting pitcher Carlos Rodon defeated the Milwaukee Brewery Thursday in a 4-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday.
The new look has caused a mixed reaction online after the organization made a radical change to one of its long-standing policies last month. Rodon, 32, has a beard San Francisco Giant and the Chicago White Sox before signing with the Yankees and shaving them.
Players were allowed to grow “neat” beards when the Yankees canceled their facial hair policy in spring practice. As the rules faded, Rodon and the other Yankees had beards on the opening day.

However, for the first time in a long time, fans have seen Yankees players have different opinions.
One user posted to X. “The beard looks great on Carlos Rodon.”
Other fans are not that friendly to the Yankees starting pitcher. “Carlos Rodon looked awful in the pinstripes before the Yankee Stadium crowd – the beard stands out.

Some fans have linked Roden’s outstanding performance to his beard.
One user posted to X. “It’s so exciting for Carlos Rodon, who had been bearded for the whole year.”
Another fan posted on social media: “Carlos Rodon is probably the one who benefits the most from the Yankees’ new beard policy.”

However, Rodon made a strong start with his beard in 2025. Rodon isn’t the only bearded player, as left fielders Jasson Dominguez, Reliever Mark Leiter Jr. and Closer Devin Williams also have beards.
The Yankees’ next game is 1:05 ET against the winemakers on Saturday at 1:05 PM EST, while Max Fried made his team debut after an eight-year, $218 million contract with the Yankees during the offseason.
