Xander Schauffele won’t be with him Ryder Cup Teammates have good reason: he goes home with his newborn son.
Schauffele, 31, told the Associated Press that his wife Maya recently gave birth to a boy named Victor.
Schauffele’s 2024 season was outstanding when he won two PGA Champion and public.

The Californians have not seen the same success this season. Schauffele missed a few months of rib injuries at the start of the season.
With him 71 consecutive cuts but not winning this season, he maintained a winning streak that didn’t lack 36 holes. Schauffele ranks top 10 in two of four majors this season – master Open – but not in the top five.
Due to his success in 2024, Schauffele automatically qualifies for the US Ryder Cup team. This will be his third time in the Ryder Cup.

Schauffele and Bryson DeChambeau are the only two members of the Ryder Cup team who did not compete in the Procore championship. DeChambeau won’t attend because he is not PGA Tour.
Schauffele told the Associated Press last month that he wasn’t sure the game in Napa, California depends mainly on when the baby was born and because he needed a break.

“If I don’t think the game will help me, I won’t play it,” he said at the BMW Championship.
The Ryder Cup began on September 26, when the United States will avenge its 2023 defeat at Bethpage Black.
