Wisconsin Interschool Athletic Association (WIAA) is the latest national athletic organization Executive Order Prevent trans athletes from participating in women’s sports.
WIAA announced Wednesday it has updated its policy, which says only athletes “designated as a woman’s birth” can compete Girls’ sports.
“Today is a statement,” WIAA executive director Stephanie Hauser said. “In consultation with legal counsel, our board updated this policy to ensure our membership is clear to comply with the new federal guidance from the White House.” ”

Wisconsin’s new policy reflects the NCAA’s policy because it still allows biology athletes to participate in girls’ practices, but not official competitions.
Since 2013, the state has allowed trans athletes to participate in women’s sports.
Last April, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers vetoed a bill that would ban high school transgender athletes from participating in women’s sports teams.

Evers said in a press release that he would veto any bills that “harm Wisconsin LGBTQ” and “child mental health.”
“I will veto any bill that makes Wisconsin unsafe, inclusive and less welcome to LGBTQ people and children, and I will continue to keep my promise to stay safe,” Evers said.
“States across this country may replace radical policies targeting LGBTQ individuals and families and threaten the daily lives of LGBTQ people and their safety, value, support and welcome them to be their ability. Large states, Wisconsin will not be in it. .”
But now, the state has aligned with 25 others who have already enacted appropriate laws to prevent trans athletes from participating in women’s sports, and others who have updated their policies under Trump’s executive order.
Wisconsin voted for Trump in the 2016 and 2024 presidential elections, but otherwise known as the Blue State in recent history. But now, Wisconsin is the latest state to agree to implement Trump’s policy on protecting girls and women from sports. Over the past year, opposing trans inclusion has become a bipartisan issue.

Of the 2,128 people surveyed, 79% said that biological males identified as women should not be allowed to participate in women’s sports.
Of the 1,025 people who identify as Democrats or lean on Democrats, 67% said trans athletes should not be allowed to compete with women.
Still, some blue countries have refused to comply with Trump’s executive orders and continue to allow trans athletes to compete with girls. California, Minnesota and Maine are one of the most outstanding countries to openly resist Trump on this issue.
However, these states are at risk of losing federal funds under Trump’s order policy. California and Minnesota are also currently under investigation by the U.S. Department of Education to violate Trump’s orders for IX violations.
