Yolanda Marodi has been running away from authorities for five weeks.

When Yolanda Marodi was arrested in Mexico, her escape status ended. She was not guilty of first-degree murder during Wednesday’s arraignment in East County Superior Court in San Diego. She appeared through a video of a San Diego hospital. Her public defender requested a bail review hearing on April 28.
Yolanda Marodi is receiving medical treatment in the hospital and will be moved to jail after release.
She was arrested Saturday at a hotel near Mexica Lifirol Caril, according to reports. Baja California Citizen Safety Secretariat. After the killing, Rebecca Marodi’s friends held a “celebration of life” ceremony for the California fire captain, who fought against the Eaton fire.
“She always shows up,” friend Ami Davis told The Times. “Whatever that is, she’ll be there all the time, big things or small things. She’ll take a break and help me ride a motorcycle. She’s always thinking about people in some way, shape or form.”
Rebecca Marodi may have died after announcing her relationship with Yolanda ended.
Rebecca’s mother Lorena Marodi told detectives that Rebecca told Yolanda a week before her killing, according to an arrest warrant filed by the San Diego County Superior Court. In the home security video, Rebecca has blood from the back of a woman believed to be Yolanda.
“Yolanda! Please…! I don’t want to die!” Rebecca screamed according to the arrest warrant.
The commander said, “You should have thought about this before.” Her arms were covered with blood.
About 10 minutes later, Yolanda was captured in a security camera collecting pets and luggage and loading it into a Chevrolet Equinox SUV. Yolanda drove away, and her vehicle was recorded by the Department of Homeland Security entering Mexico’s Department of Homeland Security that night.
According to detectives, this is the second time Yolanda Marodi has killed a spouse.
In 2004, Yolanda Marodi, whose name was Olejniczak, was convicted of killing her then-husband, and James Joseph Olejniczak, according to court records. She pleaded guilty to voluntary homicide and served in prison from February 2004 to November 2013.
According to the prosecutor, Marodi used a knife in that killing. According to family court records at Vista Court, the couple filed for divorce in May 2000.
