Independent Game Studio Evil Fox Game One has been launched Kickstarter Crowdfunding Champion’s Crowdfunding Event, Competition 3 RPG The rise of elements.
The game is a narratively rich champion-led competitive RPG that revolves around PVP Elemental Match-3 puzzle mechanics. The Kickstarter campaign offers supporter rewards, including exclusive skins, closed game testing and early access, physical items and other privileges, depending on the support layer. The event will be held from March 4 to April 3, 2025.
The Rise of Element is a fully implemented version of the prototype first created by Terry Redfield, CEO of evil Fox, and another member of the current team a decade ago. The Rise of Elements is the spiritual successor of the 2015 puzzle combat power element.
The Rise of Elements Players compete in Argos’ Championship Championships in search of mastering the elements and ridding the upcoming threat of Etheron’s world. It can be played competitively or more methodically through a variety of single-player or multiplayer modes including timing, action and story modes, and may have other modes in the future.
“Inspired by games like the “Jigsaw Missions” series, the rise of elements was born out of a lack of casual games that promote soft competitive games with profound narratives,” Redfield said in a statement. “This is a request I’ve been hearing from Candy Crush players when King was the creative director of the new IP, which led me to design the game. Within the first 24 hours, we reached our 20% funding target, so we believe there is a lot of demand for this kind of game.”
Redfield added: “Now that we have launched the first Kickstarter campaign, the team turned their attention to the night fire. This is a great example of where we want to guide the studio, and there is already some nice underground buzz. Combined with our interest in different cultural legends and myths, the night is a bite-sized narrative RPG, survival element. We hope to be the first “story” of the series inspired by the team’s Hawaiian roots and the stories they were told as kids, we want to share with the world.”
Players choose from a variety of champions, each with their own moves, strengths and weaknesses, and special basic abilities. A wide variety of champions, attributes and game styles add a layer of tactical strategy to gameplay based on element-based Gem. The evil Fox plan tends to expand in this aspect, potentially launching new championships and battlegrounds as well as collaboration.
Currently, the game includes a collaboration with streamer and TV host Trisha Hershberger, who worked with the studio to speak out and create passionate inventor Cordelia. Another collaboration of this work is with color material and voice actress Lily Ki (also known as Lilypichu) on future champion Emily, Queen of the Dead. Supporters of the support elements will be able to follow the developments of these champions and more.
Redfield said in an interview at the Dice Summit that the team focused on telling stories about various topics and cultures.
“One of the main focus of the studio is to create various characters and related stories – often rooted in the myth of culture, which will resonate with people and attract a wide variety of players,” Redfield said. “We really enjoy working with these creators and our community to further develop these unique and detailed characters.”

The rise of elements is just the first champion of the evil Fox game. Founded in 2024 by Redfield and Cto Caerie Houchins, the leadership team plays key roles in many popular games, including Valort, Candy Crush, Candy Crush, Dungeons and Dragons, League of Legends and Psychological Terrorists. The studio has carried out several other projects at various stages of design and pre-production and is actively seeking funding and/or strategic partnerships.
It is expected to be released in the second half of 2026, with the rise in elements coming out as advanced PC (Steam) and web-based games, with plans to bring it to other platforms.
