“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg dismissed political violence on Thursday Assassination American co-founder Charlie Kirk said no one should be afraid to express their opinions.
“I don’t even know how to start because it’s just devastating. Of course, our hearts go to Charlie Kirk’s family, who was shot dead on a college campus in Utah yesterday,” Goldberg said. “I mean, not being the basic part of being an American, we can express our opinions to each other without fear without this horror?”
“It seems like more and more of us, not even the sway. It’s just people being eliminated because of their beliefs and their thoughts,” Goldberg added.
Kirk was assassinated Wednesday at a campus event in Utah. The suspect still exists During Thursday’s game, investigators revealed they had retracted their weapons and had “good footage” of the Gunners, which they described as “college days.” Investigators released two images of “people of interest” related to the incident.

Goldberg cited several other examples of political violence and said: “It’s not the way we do it. We say that every time, but it doesn’t resonate, and I hope young Republicans will never forget that they have voices. It’s proven. They have a voice. We all have voices. We absolutely have to be afraid.”
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former communications aide to President Donald Trump, hopes that the assassination will not affect Americans’ ability to speak out their own ideas.
“Listen, no matter your politics, we have to get to a place in this country, and we see that we disagree with our enemies, but as fellow Americans who are willing to participate in different perspectives,” Griffin said. “I hope that no matter whether you are left or right, there is no chilling effect. I know one thing we all agree on on this table, and we all share points that we should be able to do it without fear.”

Co-host Sara Haines said she was willing to debate and talk to people who disagree with him.
“While none of us are consistent with his point of view, what I said deeply to him is that he said, ‘When we stop talking, that’s when things get bad.’ Ironically, a person who travels across the country to college campuses is the pinnacle of the difference in thought. ” Haynes said.
She added: “He would talk publicly. It’s something we try to illustrate every day and say it’s more we need. So, ironically, it’s ironic that when this country says what we need, we all know we all agree with this part because it’s where political violence is.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin also said she was heartbroken by Kirk, who survived Kirk’s wife Erika and two children.

She said: “I can’t believe that someone will kill another person because they are talking about their beliefs. You know, it’s against who we are as Americans. The First Amendment is the First Amendment.”
