Russian President Vladimir Putin The agreement on Tuesday agreed to stop attacking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, but the 30-day ceasefire still leaves many major problems.
The temporary truce did not include any protection for troops fighting on the frontline or Ukrainian civilians who continued to live in the ongoing Russian aerial bombardment.
Putin’s initial deal comes after a 90-minute phone conversation with the president Donald TrumpLater, he then went on social media and described it as “very good” and “productive.”

Can Putin trust even if Trump secures Ukraine-Russia peace agreement?
“We agree to stop all energy and infrastructure immediately to understand that we will work quickly to a complete ceasefire and finally end this very terrible war between Russia and Ukraine,” he said. “This process is now full of strength and effectiveness, and hopefully for humanity, we will get the job done!”
Trump then told Fox News “Laura Ingraham” on “Corner of Ingrahan” that further pushing Putin in the ceasefire will be difficult. Russia has an advantage. ”
Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said in a speech to Sean Hannity on Tuesday that National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to Saudi Arabia on Sunday to discuss details of Tuesday’s deal between the two leaders.
Instead of answering questions about Fox News numbers, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office said in a message to X: “Putin effectively rejected the entire proposal for a ceasefire.”
“It is right for the world to reject any attempt to extend the war by rejecting Putin,” he continued, continuing to highlight the ongoing Russian attacks on Ukrainian civilians, including on Tuesday when a Russian Shah drone attacked a hospital in the Sumi area of Ukraine.
“Sanctions against Russia. Aid to Ukraine. “Strengthening allies in the free world and working towards security assurance,” Zelenskyy is listed as a measure that the Western world can take to resist Putin. “The peace can only be brought closer by truly stopping Russia’s strike on civilian infrastructure to prove its willingness to end this war.” ”
The Trump administration believes Real negotiation It can only begin after a ceasefire is secured, although it is unclear how to negotiate how to conduct any truce, including civilian protections in Russian air attacks.
Neither the State Department nor the White House answered the question of Fox News’s digital numbers on why the president believes Putin “want to achieve peace” – Trump accuses Zelenskyy He was not “serious” when he tried to provide security assurance for Ukraine last month.
Officials from NATO The EU was also raised after the call between Trump and Putin.

Ukraine agreed to a ceasefire last week after meeting with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, and the two said they would “contact Russians.”
Zelenskyy said Washington has not yet detailed the details of the negotiations agreed by Beijing V, but Zelenskyy said the United States has pushed a full ceasefire on the front, air and the Black Sea – a move that Trump clearly cannot secure a Trump effort in his discussions with Putin on Tuesday.

Zelenskyy said his delegation also discussed “the release of prisoners of war and detainees of military and civilians – and the return of Ukrainian children who were forcibly transferred to Russia”.
The Kremlin said on Tuesday that Putin had agreed to a 175 prisoner exchange with Ukraine, but did not mention 20,000 Ukrainian children Kiev has been reportedly kidnapped, mainly from Luhansk and Donetsk, and then funneled through Russia’s adoption plan.
Many issues still need to be negotiated between Ukraine and Russia, the United States says Europe will also become.

Putin has made it clear that Ukraine should not be allowed to join NATO – the Trump administration also supports concerns that it can escalate not only the nature of the Russian war, but also the escalation.
European leaders and Zelenskyy believe Peacekeeping Force It should then be placed in Ukraine to prevent Russia from launching a future invasion – but Moscow has also shown that this will be seen as a threat to Russia.
Issues of Western arms supply, issues of Russian occupation of territories, future security of Ukraine, international commemoration of Ukrainian troops, Ukrainian troops in Kursk, and Russia’s continued air movement for civilian population are all major issues that need negotiation.
“Putin did not share Trump’s abhorrent war,” Dan Hoffman, former CIA’s Moscow station chief, told Fox News figures. “At this point, there is no indication that he will do anything else, but to negotiate to ensure Ukraine can stop future Russian attacks.”
Hoffman also argued that the Trump administration needs to find itself cautiously when Washington wants a ceasefire than Moscow.

“The strategic goal is still to destroy Ukraine,” Hoffman said. “The question is, Putin has not agreed to a ceasefire yet, so what should you do?”
He added: “Define success by something that serves our national security interests. A bad deal won’t serve our interests.”
“Let them negotiate,” Hoffman said.
