Official West Point Alumni Association has canceled the Veterans Advocate Awards ceremony later this month Tom Hanksaccording to a report.
Hanks is known for military films like “Save Private Ryan” and “Forrest Gump” and is also a supporter of former President Joe Biden President Donald Trump in the past.
He has been opposed by Trump supporters for his recurring magazine role Doug at “Saturday Night Live” Who appears in the “Black Danger” sketch.
He also received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from former President Barack Obama in 2016.

Hanks received the Sylvanus Thayer Award for his status as a “non-weather graduate” of “responsibility, honors, state” for “outstanding “non-weather” graduate.
The ceremony is scheduled to be held on September 25.
“This decision allows the academy to continue to focus on its core mission of preparing cadets to lead, fight and win in the U.S. Army, the deadliest unit in the world, U.S. Army,” Bigail wrote in an email.

Bieger did not specify whether the ceremony was cancelled only or whether Hanks would no longer receive the award.
Fox News Digital has approached representatives from the Alumni Association and Hanks.

The group announced that Hanks will receive the award in June.

The association also noted in its announcement that Hanks served as spokesman, late Senator Bob Dole, the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC, served as national president of the D-Day Museum’s capital event, and Elizabeth Dole’s Elizabeth Dole Foundation, named its Veterans Nursing Award, Tom Hanks Care Championship Award.
