Police responded to Monday’s 911 call shortly before 6 p.m., reporting that a woman was injured in her pet store. Responding officials found that the woman was shot dead with a cross arrow and the suspect fled his car.
After being shot, the woman was able to disarm the attacker and seek help from nearby businesses. Authorities said the woman was treated in the hospital for “severe injury.”
Detectives from the Major Crime Department of the Bergen County Attorney’s Office and Saddle Brooke Police Department, The suspect was investigated and pursued with the assistance of several other agencies in the area, including the FBI.
Detectives were able to identify the suspect through video surveillance, license plate readers and witness interviews, according to a criminal lawsuit obtained by Fox News Digital.

“Based on the results of this investigation, detectives determined yesterday’s previous theft was not related to the cross incident,” the Bergen County Attorney’s Office told Fox News Digital.
