Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich condemns the wave of federal judges that prevents the president Donald Trump’s The agenda is Tuesday’s “judicial coup.”
Gingrich commented while testifying House Judicial Subcommittee The hearing focused on the “judicial over-judicial over-the-country” of judges across the country. The former lawmaker stressed that Democrats appointed a vast majority of judges to propose bans or orders that restrict Trump’s enforcement.
“Mr. Gingrich, I was told that 92% of judges have been appointed by Democrats to the government. It shows at least a partisan tendency toward all of this…will this undermine public confidence in our court?” R-Calif. Rep. Tom McClintock asked during the hearing.
“If you look at the latest reports from various voting companies, obviously, most Americans think that no magistrate should be able to issue a nationwide ban,” Gingrich replied.
He continued: “Look, my judgment is as a historian. It’s obviously a judicial coup. You don’t have so many different judges publishing so many different injunctions nationwide – all of which come from the same ideological and political background – just assume that it’s a random effort of justice.”

Gingrich went on to argue that it is unacceptable for a “random” judge to micromanage the U.S. president.
“When they intervene to become basic alternative presidents, they both put Americans and the country in danger. You have 677 alternative presidents now and none of them won the election,” he said.

The best solution to the ban wave is Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts intervened, Gingrich said. Roberts can ensure that any such ruling in the lower federal court can be moved directly to the Supreme Court.
At the center of the court dispute is District Court Judge James Boasberg, who is trying to prevent the Trump administration from deporting members of the Tren de Aragua gang to El Salvador. Other judges have banned Trump’s efforts to prune the federal government.

The ideas raised by lawmakers include a fast-pass appeal process that wields Congress’ power to spend on the judiciary and limits the ability of the “trial shop.”
Some conservatives are eager to target specific judges they believe are being abused through the improper process, but House Republican leaders are wary of the line and believe it is less effective than other legislative avenues.
