The Public Library of Falls Church, Virginia, moved a pro-Palestine alphabet book to a different location in the children’s section this week after library staff reviewed the book.
After Mary Riley Styles received thousands of letters complaining about the alleged anti-Semitic content “P is Palestine: Book of the Palestinian alphabet”, staff reviewed its content and moved it from the book collection to children’s nonfiction, locally exported to Arlnow.com, Report Wednesday.
Library director Megan Dotzler told the library board last week that children’s nonfiction is a better place because “complex topics require some adult explanations for children.”

The 2018 book written by Golbarg Bashi is described on Amazon.com as “the world’s first English-English ABC Storybook about Palestine”, which is told by simple rhythmic rhythms.
The book’s presence at the Northern Virginia Library sparked a complaint from a local resident earlier this year about its passage of “uprising.” It reads: “The uprising is Arabic and can rise/if you are a child or an adult, it is correct.”
Others view the uprising as a direct appeal to Israel’s violence. Liyam ChitayatA Jewish MIT student protested on campus in 2023, saying “the phrase means “the name of Israeli civilian behavior in Israel in Israel in the Israel-Palstin conflict. This is the name of the life of civilians in Israeli terrorist attacks. ”

Dotzler filed a complaint against children’s books on February 5 Board of Directors Meetingtelling members: “One of the letters is a questionable term.”
Under its policy, the library has conducted a review of the material on the complaint to find out whether it should be removed or moved from the shelves.
Dotzler revealed at a board meeting last week that the initial complaint inspired 4,500 email complaints. Most emails accuse the book of promoting anti-Semitism and calling for its removal, although many were sent from people outside the Falls Church area. Dotzler did mention that 200 emails were written in the book “Defense”.
The directors also announced that the library staff decided to move the book to a different children’s department, noting that they determined that the book was not sufficient to remove it completely. Dotzler cites library strategy, noting that “it does not endorse any specific point expressed in the material of its choice.”
Dotzler did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
