Welcome back! Do you miss me? Yes, of course you did it. There is a lot of “the future of transportation” news to follow. Let’s jump in.
It’s comeback week, not just because I’m back from vacation. I’m talking about the IAA mobility conference in Munich, and the purposeful efforts of German automakers to show the world it can still deliver engaging, technologically advanced and affordable vehicles. The subtext of the splash event that started Tuesday: “Hey, China, we are not quitting the competition.”
Volkswagen Group,,,,, Mercedesand BMW All showed off many new cars, including electric vehicles. Executives cried: Volkswagen Group Oliver Blume In several interviews with reporters, the company’s plan was proposed in a bullish tone and Competitive in Chinaespecially with EVS, Volkswagen is already behind.
But what about home? Chinese automakers have been driving into Europe, and consumers have responded. German automakers hope their latest products, including the new all-electric Mercedes GLC, the BMW IX3 with its four “superbrain” computers, and the Volkswagen ID Polo and ID Cross concepts, will retain or even increase market share. But they have some work to do. Over the past year, Chinese companies like BYD have almost doubled their market share in Europe. Jato Dynamics Report In July.
Notes on IAA News: RIMAC technologyRIMAC Group’s Technology and Parts Division has been developed Solid state battery pack It said it will be available in late 2027. These batteries obviously fill energy, which can range from 10% to 80% energy Less than 10 minutes.

Hyundai agreed to spend another $448 million to buy 11% of Aptiv’s common stake in Motional.
Now it seems that Hyundai is investing in two branching moves. The first one is scattered this year, with about $452 million. The second one is next year, and I am still working to lower this amount. The first number is Reports from North Korean stores. Hyundai refused (several times!) to answer my question about funding. This is typical for large companies. However, a bird deep in the AV industry also pointed out that Hyundai may not want to make a big difference because it also works with Waymo.
