Watkins held an outstanding freshman campaign in the 2023-24 season and her impressive performance lasted this year. The Los Angeles native averaged 23.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 33 games this season.

USC coach Lindsay Gottlieb said Watkins’ position in the 2025-26 season is unclear.

“We don’t know what Juju will do. Will she be with the Redshirt for the whole year? Will she try to come back at some point?” Gottlieb tells ESPN on Monday. “These are not conversations right now, but I do think we’ll dig deep into how we keep an elite team, no matter what that happens. We’ll have time to figure out how to be great, even if Juju isn’t there.”
