A group Russian nationals Immigrants from the Dominican Republic were intercepted in U.S. waters and handed over to federal immigration and border patrol agencies, according to the Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard said Puerto Rican law enforcement discovered a 20-foot “Panga-style” boat on the coast of Aguadilla, a small town in northwest Puerto Rico, three miles from the coast of Agadira, and issued an alarm and a warning to maritime agencies, the Coast Guard said.
There are five people on the boat – three claim to be Nationals of the Dominican Republicand there is also a man and woman who claim to be a Russian national.
The Coast Guard noted that one of the immigrants had a criminal record in the United States and were charged with illegal re-entry of the country.

Two Russians, a man and a woman, were handed over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducted a “investigation and demolition” in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Monday.
Two of the three migrants from the Dominican Republic returned to Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic on Saturday. The third immigrant, who had a criminal history, was transferred to the U.S. Border Patrol in Mayagus, Puerto Rico, on Saturday, the agency said.

Commander Matthew Romano, the Coast Guard San Juan Regional Response Director, said the recent review “demonstrates cooperation and coordination among institutions.”
