The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Guns and Explosives (ATF) led the investigation, resulting in the execution of “blue shoelaces” in South Dallas on Monday.

Young, Love, Bowman, Wenhan and Whitley are all charged with conspiracy to possess a person who intends to distribute controlled substances, while Young, Love and Hewitt are also charged with felons, possessing firearms, and possessing firearms to facilitate drug trafficking crimes.

At a detention hearing Friday, prosecutors accused the defendant of drugging in an area called a “dead end” every day.
Prosecutors also provided evidence that several members of the operation used text messages to warn each other of the raids, after which they sent “young men” to find the lost drugs. Prosecutors also claimed that the suspect was back at the end of the raid.
According to Meacham’s office, many suspects have a broad criminal history, including crimes related to drugs and guns.
