Two trans inmates ordered back to women’s prisons in Reagan-appointed judge’s injunction

“They have been transferred and allegedly abused in the new facility can only strengthen their claims about irreparable harm,” Lamberth, a U.S. District Court judge appointed by Reagan, wrote in the injunction.

Court documents also claimed that since being transferred to a male prison, “they have no access to bras and women’s underwear” while being “sexually harassed” at the new facility.

The Prison Department did not respond in comment Friday.

At least 15 trans-inmates are now protected by orders to block or reverse transfer, the Associated Press reported.

Lambers has not ruled for lawsuits filed this month by three other inmates—transgender women in men’s jail and two transmen men in women’s jails—who challenged executive orders prohibit transgender medical treatment in prisons.
