The 23-year-old Finley was released without posting a margin and was previously booked for possessing stolen goods worth $25,000 or more.
The Green Wave went on a spring practice without Finley on Thursday, when all QB duties were handled by two other transfers (Kadin Semonza from Ball State) and Donovan Leary of Illinois.
After practice, coach Jon Sumrall briefly paused Finley’s suspension with reporters, largely delaying the university’s official statement, but added: “When the guys make mistakes, they have to take responsibility.”

During his time with Auburn about three years ago, Finley was Allegedly escaping from police During traffic parking.
The arrest came shortly after he became the first college athlete to reach a zero agreement with Amazon. He was reportedly arrested after finding out he was cited and handed in and handed in for riding a motorcycle without a helmet on campus on July 26.
Finley is now taking part in his fifth college football course and entering his sixth college season. Last season’s game against Western Kentucky has moved to Duran after last season, where he played three games before ankle injury for the rest of the season. Tulane will be his fourth school in years.
This allowed him to wear a red shirt and retain his qualification for the last season.

The native of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, began his college career at Louisiana State University (LSU) in 2020. He moved to Auburn in 2021, where he spent two seasons, before moving to Texas in 2023, where he passed a career-best 3,439 yards and 24 touchdowns.
