Louis Lago, a former Battalion department at Battimore Fire Battalion working on the same unit of the death of investigation as Montague, said he was afraid for his children and other firefighters.
“My worship is that the program will melt, and I have two sons at work,” says Laga, who works in the unit from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. “I think it has great benefit to the safety and welfare of the fire service.”
He said the view comes in part from the experience of using agency reports when he led Dive operations. During a repair mission, a safe diver cannot find a trapped diver. But the second safety diver found the trapped driver and saved him. Using two different safety varieties instead of one’s way Laga knows from program reports, he says.
Now, with only two of the five investigators who are still working, he and others are familiar with the program saying it doesn’t live.
“If they finish enough people, they don’t work,” says Mica Niemeier-Walsh, Chief Steward to the Government employees at the local 3840 in Cincinnati. “They just carry hatchet to things. They don’t mind anyone about who is affected.”
