President Donald Trump’s long admiration for the British royal family can be traced back to decades.
Prince William & Kate Middleton, along with the Military Honor Guard and Windsor Castle, welcomed the 79-year-old president and first lady Melania Trump on Wednesday. Trump began his second visit to the UK as a guest of King Charles III.
“The United States and the United Kingdom have a special relationship, strengthened by President Trump’s family ties with Scotland,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly told Fox News’s numbers.

“This visit gives the president the opportunity to strengthen ties with his precious allies while promoting mutual economic and foreign policy interests,” she said. “The president looks forward to spending time with his friends, royal family members, Prime Minister Sir Kyle Steamer and leading American and British business leaders.”
The US President was not invited to make a second state visit. Associated Press Report. Trump’s first state visit was in his first term in 2019, when he was the host of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

In 2019, The New York Times One of Trump’s earliest memories reportedly were the memories he often shared, as he saw his mother, Mary Anne MacLeod Trump, attracted by the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.

He described how she “almost didn’t move for hours” and admired the 3,400-mile ritual inside Westminster Abbey. Trump was 6 years old at the time.
“I still remember the day my father walked around impatiently.’ For Christ’s sake, Mary,’ he said, ‘enough, shut it off,” Trump recalled. “My mother didn’t even look up. In that sense, they were totally opposite.”

Mary Trump is described as a poor girl who immigrated from Scotland and worked as a maid in a mansion for some time. She was the youngest of 10 children who sailed to the United States around 1930.

She died in 2000 88 years old.
At a state banquet at St. George’s Hall on Wednesday night, guests began with the 1912 Hennessy, 1912 Brandy Grand Champagne, from the birth year of the president’s mother.
Before the feast, Trump said his second state visit was “one of the highest honors of my life.”
“Being the first American to welcome the U.S. president is a peculiar privilege, if considering that this is a lot of presidents, this is the second state visit, this is the first, this is the first, this is the last,” Trump said.

“But it is indeed one of the highest honors in my life, this respect and respect for your country.”
Trump has had a good talk about the royal family over the years.

On his trip to Scotland In July, Trump described them as “very great people” of journalists at a press conference.

The president said: “…I think Britain is lucky; you can have people who are not good people.” People Magazine. “I don’t know if I can say that, but you probably don’t have anyone.”
He also highly praised the late Queen after her death in September 2022. The longest monarch in England is 96 years old.

“It’s hard for Melania and I to know what’s lost Queen Elizabeth II“As people quote, Trump wrote about the truth social at that time.
“In this time of great sorrow and grief, we join our families and Americans in extending our sincere condolences to the royal family and the British people.”

“Queen Elizabeth’s history and outstanding rule left a great legacy of peace and prosperity for Britain,” he continued. “Her leadership and enduring diplomacy gained alliances with the United States and the nations of the world.”
“But she is always remembered for her loyalty to her country and her firm dedication to her fellow countrymen and women.”

“I’m a big fan of the royal concept,” Trump said. “…I’m a little biased because I think the queen is incredible. … She almost never makes mistakes.”
When it comes to Charles, Trump noted that they disagree with environmental issues, but he still likes Rule the monarch.

“We have different opinions, but we get along,” Trump said. “I think he’s a really good person, we get along well, and he has more restrictions on the environment than I do.”

“I like him, I hope he will be fine.” Trump refers to the king’s health. Charles, 76, was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in 2024.

Prior to the visit, Trump praised his “great” of the “ultimate visit” of Windsor Castle, whose “friend” was the king’s second visit British standards Report.

“My relationship is very good with Britain, Charles is now the king, and is my friend,” Trump told reporters. “This is where the first time the honors have happened. So, it’s a big honor.”
“This is Windsor,” Trump said. “And I don’t want to say one is better than the other, but they say Windsor Castle is the ultimate, right?

Royal expert Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital that Trump’s appreciation for the royal family was “welcome” by Windsor House and had mastered the special relationship between the two countries.

The 79-year-old president is not the only one who has established a relationship with the royal family.
In her 2024 memoirMelania revealed that the couple exchanged letters with King Charles “to date.”

“Charles is a great trustee,” Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Magazine, author “My mother and me.” Tell Fox News numbers.
“I don’t know where he found time, but he likes to write letters,” she said. “He certainly wrote these long and beautiful letters before. I’ve seen some of them and thought, ‘I’ll copy my own phrases!’ He was very interested.

The invitation to Trump’s second state visit was held at the White House earlier this year by Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.

After reading it, Trump said it was a “great honor” and seemed happy to know he would stay at Windsor Castle, according to the Associated Press.
“That’s really what,” he said.
