“You have a kid, and I think you should be able to call and vote,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One on Thursday. “I agree with that.”
He added: “I don’t know why this is controversial.”

“@speakerjohnson called me after the POTUS statement and we discussed limiting voting to new moms who can’t do physical travel in an emergency. It’s smart,” Luna tweeted. “Remember: There are only 13 in American history.”
Johnson tried To kill the efforts earlier this week, nine Republicans joined all Democrats to vote 206-222. After the loss, Johnson canceled the votes for the rest of the week.

Despite the setbacks, Luna made it clear that the issue was not about bringing any legislation for the president, saying she told Johnson in person.
It is not clear whether the issue will be brought back House Floor Before April break.
