Donald Trump announced Tuesday that Princeton student Elizabeth Tsurkov has been released by the Islamic militant group Hezbollah.
The president wrote in a Truth Society post inside the U.S. Embassy in Iraq that Tsurkov, a dual Russian-Israel citizen, was “just” released by Kata’ib Hezbollah and is now safe.

She was kidnapped in a cafe in Karrada district of Baghdad In 2023, while conducting academic research for her paper, she was allegedly tortured within a few months.
Her sister is an American citizen.
“I will always fight for justice and never give up,” Trump wrote in the post. “Hamas, release the hostages now!”
