President Donald Trump fires National Security Agency (NSA)It was a high-level move driven by growing pressure from conservative allies to clear officials who believe are not enough to stay true to the president’s “America First” agenda.
Lieutenant General Timothy Haugh and civilian Wendy Noble stood out from their role as NSA director and deputy director. Lieutenant General William Hartman, who also leads U.S. Cyber Command, will serve as acting director, while Sheila Thomas will take over as deputy.
Hartman had previously commanded the Cyber National Mission Force and served in intelligence, cyberspace operations and infantry roles during global deployment. Thomas recently led the NSA’s cryptographic partnership with the UK and served as Director of Engagement and Policy at the NSA.

Right-wing figures are related to members of Trump’s national security team, and this reorganization is happening. The far-right provocateur Laura Loomer met with Trump this week to share her “study” of officials she believes should be fired.
As Loomer pointed out on X, both Haugh and Noble were Biden appointments. She appears to be honored for her dismissal, claiming that Hauge has no “nowhere” in the Trump administration as he was “hand-picked” by former United Emirates Chairman Mark Milley.
“Why do we want an NSA director who was hand-selected by Milley and referred to Biden,” Ms. Loomer wrote. “Why do we have to choose for NSA director Miley’s hand-selected choice? We don’t have it!

When asked whether the loom affected the president’s decision, the White House and the NSA did not respond.
Trump fired several National Security Council (NSC) Staff on Thursday, in a signal chat about the Houthi strike, he accidentally included Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg in the recent plight of national security adviser Mike Waltz.
“We will let go of people we don’t like, or people we don’t think we can do the job, or people who may be loyal to others,” Trump told reporters. He confirmed that NSC members have been fired, but pointed out that it’s not many.
The NSA’s reshuffle also emerged after Trump recently liberated the Joint Conference Chairman CQ Brown and former Naval Operations Director Lisa Franchetti’s CQ Brown.
