President Donald Trump signed a memorandum on Monday that set up a working group in Memphis, Tennessee, similar to his initiative to fight crime in Washington.
“I’m signing a presidential memorandum to build a task force for security in Memphis,” Trump said in the Oval Office on Monday. “It’s very important because not only in Memphis, but in many cities, we’re taking care of their crimes step by step, like we do in DC.”
Trump said the work will include the National Guard, the FBI, the Alcohol Bureau, tobacco, guns and explosives, the Drug Enforcement Bureau, Homeland Security Investigation, and immigration and customs enforcement.
