Asked about caring about him most about defending the House majority, NRCC Chairman Rep. Richard Hudson said in a Fox News digital interview on Monday: “The Democrats have a structural advantage in fundraising. They seem to have only money on the hill. So I think the amount Democrats raise is probably the only thing I have to do with me.”

Hours before Trump was scheduled to attend the NRCC fundraising event House Democrats The campaign force aims to win the majority, targeting nearly thirty Republican-owned seats.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) released its initial 2026 target list Tuesday morning, which includes 35 Republican-controlled seats and works to raise funds for the party’s final nominee in each district.
The DCCC stressed that their moves indicate that “the Democrats are on offensive and are ready to win a majority in 2026.”
The DCCC list was unveiled three weeks after the NRCC landed on its initial target list, targeting 26 districts controlled by House Democrats.
“House Republicans are afraid that they should do it. They are working on the economy, making Medicaid, giving up veterans and making everything more expensive. In short, they lose trust in voters, which will cost them the majority,” said Rep. Suzan Delbene, a Washington state accused of Suzan Delbene in a statement announcing the action.
While it is obvious that Republican parties face serious political headwinds in the midterm elections, the NRCC is optimistic that they can defend their majority.
“If you look at the landscape of the 2026 election, there are only three Republicans in the region [former vice president and 2024 Democratic presidential nominee] Carry Kamala Harrisbut Donald Trump has 13 Democrats in the seats, half of which are Hispanic areas that President Trump does play for us. ” Hudson reiterated.

The NRCC also noted that more House Democrats are seeking statewide offices in 2026 instead of running for reelection.
Hudson said the trend would “absolutely” help the Republicans defend most of the people next year.
“It’s much easier to win an open seat than having a deep-rooted Democrat,” Hudson said. “I think it’s very helpful, and I think you’re going to see more Democrats running for other offices and retirement.”
