President Donald Trump Another victory was won in the re-division of Congress in the high-risk political struggle between Republicans and Democrats.
Missouri Senate met on Friday in a special legislative session to pass a new congressional map with a 21-11 vote that could put Republicans in extra seats by next year Midterm elections.
Missouri has been a one-off swing nation over the past decade and a half, the latest battlefield in a congressional redistricting showdown, following a new map of Texas-led Republican-led Texas and a re-division of Democrats in severe blue California.
With the passage of a redistricting bill in the Missouri House earlier this week, the measure now heads to Republican Gov. Mike Kehoe’s table.

“The Conservatives in Missouri, common sense value should be truly represented in government at all levels, Missouri No. 1 map Just provide this.
After the House passed the redivision bill, the governor reiterated that the new map would ensure that “Missouri values are clearly and effectively represented.”
Kehoe proposed a new map targeting the Kansas City area of long-time Democratic Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, shifting it eastward to include rural right-leaning voters. The new map could flip the meat-cutter seat and provide Republicans with a 7-1 advantage in the state’s House delegation.
If the governor signs the new map into law, he vows to take legal action.
“I want to warn us all that if you fire with fire long enough, then all you want to leave is ashes,” Clive said Thursday in a Missouri Senate Committee.
Noting the recent public opinion polls, he called the re-division plan “extremely unpopular.”

But Trump touted in recent social media posts that Missouri voters will have “a huge opportunity to elect Mecca Republicans in the 2026 midterm elections.”
Missouri Democrats took a sit-in last weekend and refused to leave the chamber in protest against Republican-supported maps. Democrats held a rally at the Missouri Capitol on Wednesday.
Missouri State House Minority Leader Ashley Aune accused Republicans of pushing for “manipulating our maps and eliminating our representation in Congress.”
Russ Carnahan, a former Rep. Russ Carnahan, a Missouri Democratic chairman, warned that Republicans push for a re-division had political consequences.
Kanahan told Fox News that they chose to succumb to Washington’s demands to do something I think will stir up the anger of Missouri voters who are about to see what Missouri voters look like. ”
But with Republicans firmly controlling two chambers in the Missouri Legislature, Democrats don’t have any good choices to prevent passing through the new map.

The Republican efforts in Missouri and Texas are part of a broad Republican effort to maintain control of the room by mid-2026, when the parties in power traditionally face political headwinds and lose seats.
Trump and his political team aim to prevent what happened during his first term in the White House, when Democrats regained a House majority in the 2018 midterm elections.

Democrats are fighting back against the rare but unheard of redistricting.
California’s heavy blue state legislators approved a special vote proposal in November to get voter approval to temporarily resist the state’s nonpartisan redivision committee and return to the power to map the congressional map to the Democratic-led legislature.
The efforts in California are aimed at creating five Democratic congressional districts and responding to the Texas transformation, led by two administrations. Gavin Newsomconsidered a 2028 Democratic presidential contender.

In the middle of next year, Democrats currently need only three pickups to win a House majority, Indiana, South Carolina and Florida are carefully considering their own Republican-friendly re-division plans. Right-leaning Ohio draws a new map by the midterm according to a court order.
As Democrats push back, they hope to travel to New York, Illinois and Maryland in a bid to build more left-leaning congressional seats.

In Illinois and Maryland, the government is there. JB Pritzker Wes Moore is discussing rezoning, with Democrats hoping to get up to three left-leaning seats.
Democrats can sit in the Republican-led Utah seat, and the judge recently ordered a new map on the Republican-controlled legislature after ruling that lawmakers four years ago ignored voter-approved independent commissions to prevent guerrillas from sending parties.
