Brown Provost Frank Doyle said in an email to campus leaders Thursday that the school was aware of “disturbing rumors” about its research funding, but they did not have any information to “confirm” the claim.

She said schools that received federal funding “has a responsibility to protect all students from discrimination” and described the failure to do so as to question whether universities should “do business with the U.S. government.”
The government has also taken action to detain and expel foreign students participating or carefully planned anti-Israel Protest at American universities.

The Department of Homeland Security announced last month that an assistant professor at Brown was deported to Lebanon with an H-1B visa because she supported and attended the funeral of the murdered Hezbollah leader.
