A famous pastry chef killed by a boulder during a picturesque hike Kauai Island, HawaiiOfficials said.
The Kauai Fire Department said Gianna Buzzetta, a 26-year-old from California, was attacked by a falling boulder while exploring Makaleha Falls on Kauai with her boyfriend Connor Quinton on March 23.
“They heard a loud noise. [Quinton] Looking up, but not able to figure out where the noise comes from,” her father, Sal Buzzettta, Tell 10News.
“In a second, it happened…the rock fell off to a large extent…and it fell on her.”

Due to the remote location, there is no cell service, Quinton sprints to ask for help. When the first responders arrived, they found Buzzetta at the bottom of the waterfall unconscious, had difficulty breathing, and had obvious head injuries to the head, according to the Kauai Fire Department.
The chef needs to be airlifted Local hospitalwas later pronounced dead.
Gianna’s mother, Caty Buzzetta, said Quinton is realizing her daughter’s lifelong dream by hiking a 5.2-mile round trip hike to the cascading waterfall.
“That day she told her boyfriend Connor that he had realized his dream and it was the best day of her life,” Caty Buzzetta Tell KGTV.
Her parents shared that the couple started getting engaged and started living together before a freak accident.

“She is a big part of the team. Super creative, super talented, very hardworking,” her boss John Resnick told him. Fox 5 San Diego. “Humility, confidence – I mean, all of these things we want to see in the people we work with. So from a professional standpoint, she was incredible…our whole team loves working with her.”

Jeune et Jolie announced in a post on his Instagram page that it raised funds for Buzzetta’s family by offering special dinner services.
“Gianna is our former pastry chef and a friend of ours. She brings so much joy, intensity, enthusiasm and love to this restaurant and our team,” the restaurant team wrote. “Her sudden loss has heartbroken all of us and searching for ways to help our family.”
“So, we’re doing one thing we know how to do. We’re a restaurant and welcoming guests to celebrate the relationships that give meaning to our lives,” they said.
