Randy Shrier, one of the co-owners of Trashy Lingerie, confirmed to Times that Robert Shrier was his brother. Randy declined to comment on the case, saying his family is still waiting for the final decision of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. He was told that no lawsuit was filed and ruled as a reasonable homicide.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the shooting occurred around 1:25 in the 400 block of North Alfred Street. A 61-year-old man used a baseball bat to damage personal belongings and windows in his mother’s home and beat her up, and then started a family dispute.
Police said the woman called her 57-year-old son and she found his mother was choked by her brother. The youngest son fired a warning with a shotgun, but the choking continued.
Police said the 57-year-old “feels he has no choice but to shoot his brother to save his mother’s life.” The shooting was considered a “reasonable homicide, not a crime of murder” and the youngest son was not arrested. Police refused to release their names.
LAPD said the mother needed a head injury. The agency confirmed that no charges related to homicide were filed with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
“The Sagittarius saved the mother’s life,” Lapd Det. Samuel Marullo told Ktla. “He has no choice but to kill his brother. At 80, was he choked when your face was crushed to the ground? It would certainly lead to her death.”
Trashy Lingerie was founded in 1973 Randy’s parents are by local shoe designer Mitch Shrier and his wife Tracy. Mitch died a few years ago, and the boutique is a family-owned business.
The violent dispute took place near the family’s boutique on La Cienega Boulevard.
