Now, Gallagher, now a 11th grade student, returned to the Portland Interscholastic League where she gathered on her family track, where she was found to beat the race, especially in the 400m, which she was better than in other fields for more than seven seconds.

Gallagher ended with a score of 57.62 in the 400m, with Kinnaly Souphanthong of Franklin High School ranked second at 1:05.72. Gallagher’s teammate Quinnan Schaefer fell behind Souphanthong at 1:07.13.
Then, in the 200M game, Gallagher finished first with 25.76, followed by teammate Addyson Skyles at 27.31.
Both of Gallagher’s times were seasonal records.
As videos of race began to circulate on social media, commentators began to talk about their work.
“This experience has to be so frustrating for those girls,” said one X user. “…You’ll look back later and get even more angry, especially if you have your own kids.” Another added: “Girls should all start to refuse to run, and that’ll end soon.”

this Oregon School Activities Associationthe governing body of the Portland Interscholastic Alliance has a gender identity engagement policy, “allows students to participate in a program of sports or activity that they always assert gender identity while providing a fair, safe environment for all students.”
The rulebook adds: “Related to Rule 8.2, rules such as these promote harmony and fair competition among member schools by maintaining equality of qualifications and increasing the number of students who will have the opportunity to participate in inter-school activities.”
President Donald Trump’s Executive Order No. 14201, “Letting Men Out of Women’s Sports,” was signed as “protecting female athletes, female athletes in the women’s category, do not have to ‘compete in front of men or oppose or have to take off their clothes.’’”
When Trump signed the order last month, Oregon Republicans were happy, and House Minority Leader Christine Drazan said she would introduce a bill to rewrite the policy of high school track and field.

“Women have fought for their sport and won respect and support and have achieved incredible achievements in doing so. We must defend this progress and defend fairness.” Drazan said in a statement on Women and Women in the Country on Sports Day, Oregon Public Radio.
