Civil Rights Complaint has been filed A teenage girl representing Washington state handed over to the U.S. Department of Education’s Civil Rights Office to allegedly punished for refusing to play basketball with trans athletes.

But Washington is one of many Democratic-run states, including California, Minnesota, Massachusetts and Maine, who delayed Trump’s orders.
High school athletes in Washington are currently allowed to compete based on their gender identity rather than on biological gender. WIAA policy states that each athlete will participate in a program that “complies with their gender identity or the most consistently expressed gender” without even any medical or legal requirements. Bills that have been introduced but not passed are prohibited from participating in girls and women’s sports.

But for residents, the issue became so worrying that in December, WIAA announced a proposal to create a separate public division for trans athletes to compete.
“To maintain fair, level competition, participation in the Women’s Sports and Women’s Sports Department is limited to students assigned at birth. The purpose of this policy is to provide clarity for transgender and gender participation – a diverse student-athletes.
The proposal comes weeks after the Central Valley School Board, which oversees the Spokane Valley schools and Washington Free LakeAfter many debates at school board meetings, the vote was made to send a message to the Washington Interschool Activities Association (WIAA).
The resolution, titled “Support equity and safety in women’s sports,” claims that the entire board consists of female members participating in track and field competitions, or has a daughter participating in track and field.
One of the women, a current cross-country runner, shared her experience at the hearing.
