One of the five former Grand Slam winners congratulated the Northern Irish on Sunday after beating Justin Rose on the playoff hole on Sunday, because he knew very well what it meant to him.
“Welcome to the club,” Tiger Woods write on X. “It’s a special thing to do in Augusta. Your determination has been shown in this round and now you are part of history. Be proud of you!”
Woods was missed this week in Augusta because he suffered an Achilles injury last month and reportedly he was unable to walk correctly. While knowing his golf season might be on the shelf, one wonders if he will be present at the championship dinner Tuesday night.
Unfortunately, Woods is not the one who likes the menu prepared by Scottie Scheffler.

Woods and McIlroy have had a good golf relationship in their golf relationships over the years, and they have been Nike athletes since the latter became a professional player and are two of the best in the game.
McIlroy noted in a later interview with reporters that Woods is the one in the Grand Slam club that reminds him of his beliefs every year, and that the green jacket will soon stand on his back.
Woods, Gene Sarazen, Gary players, Ben Hogan and Jack Nicklaus were the only golfers to complete the Grand Slam until McIlroy did so on Sunday.
It was done dramatically, with McIlroy experiencing many highs and lows in his final round, but he missed his par putt on the 72nd hole of the game, which forced Rose to make the playoffs.

However, McIlroy dug deeper, hitting the necessary momentum and goals on 18 times to earn himself a brief birdie putt.
He lifted his weight on his shoulders, followed by the 2024 Masters champion Scottie Scheffler, who brought McIlroy back to Butler’s cabin’s green coat after his life.
