Sam Woods and her college team at Benjamin School are Florida 2A FHSAA State Champion After defeating Jacksonville Bishops School 1-0 at Spec Martin Stadium on Saturday.
This is the first women’s football champion ever in Benjamin School.

Sam Woods plays for the Buccaneers’ team on defense, and she plays a crucial role in keeping the Episcopal School away from the scoreboard.
“The defense does lead the team all year round,” Benjamin School head coach Hillary Carney told the Palm Beach Post. “It’s a question of keeping the door closed without them scoring, knowing we’re going to get one, maybe two. So it’s really a firm defense. [Simon] In the goal, Sam is the senior behind that just solved everything. ”
The only goal of the game was to score freshman Emma Bartoli.

It was the perfect end of Woods’ senior season, with Woods’ team having only four regular season games before the playoffs were absolutely heaters to make the championship game.
She will attend Stanford, and her father competed for two years before becoming a full-time PGA Tour Pro in the fall.
Tiger’s son and Sam’s younger brother Charlie Woods also starred at Benjamin School Men’s Golf Teamit won the Florida High School Athletic Association Class A state championship in 2023, something his father never did in the course.
The Woods family’s winning run is strong, and Sam is the latest run to get the job done with her team.
A proud father cannot stop his emotions when he achieves his goal.
