Get ready for this week’s temperature roller coaster.
Angelenos may see its hottest day so far on Monday, with thermometers expected to climb into the 90s.
High temperatures are expected to reach 85 to 90 degrees in downtown Los Angeles – while San Gabriel, San Fernando and the Santa Clarita Valleys may be warmer. The temperature in Woodland Hills could reach 95 degrees Monday, said Robbie Munroe, a meteorologist with the Oxnard National Weather Service.
The heat may break the daily record. The hottest record on March 24 at Woodland Hills was 89 degrees. “We’re very likely to undermine that,” Munro said, who said Burbank would hit 90 degrees Monday, two degrees worse than the daily record.
Munro said that after the early spike, it is expected to drop to about 70 degrees by Thursday. The deserts and mountains of Los Angeles County will remain hot and windy throughout the week.
The brief hissing sound was fueled by the brief high-pressure ridge and the flow of sea flow, pulling from the mountains to the hot air to the coastal areas, Munro said.
Munroe is along the coast of Southern California and is expected to surf with four to seven feet high due to strong winds and storms in the West and Northwest.
Then, as the storm system travels south along the Central Coast area, it is possible that Los Angeles will see light rain between March 30 and April 2.
“It’s just a matter of problem,” Munro said.
