Tapestry’s app can now de-dupe your social feeds | TechCrunch

This means that if you follow the same person in a social networking service, e.g. Bruceky and MastodonIf they share them in multiple places, you don’t have to see their post appear twice.

New feature called Crosstalk is now being launched Tapestry 1.1 iOS update A large number of updates after Tuesday – February 2025 release.

In one place, users can track any posts shared using open technology. These include social posts about apps like Bluesky and Mastodon, as well as other RSS-powered sources such as blogs, Tumblr and Reddit updates, YouTube videos, podcasts, and more. Tapestry users can also combine these sources to create their own custom feeds.

However, one of the bigger challenges of multi-feed aggregation applications like Tapestry is that you often face duplication as other users cross-update their updates with multiple services like Mastodon, Bluesky, and Micro.blog.

The latest tapestry updates now automatically filter out these duplicates, even if the post is written exactly the same. For example, if you edit a longer Mastodon post to satisfy Bluesky’s 300-character limit, Tapestry is still able to detect differences and hide duplicate posts.

Users can choose whether to hide duplicate posts, or “eliminate” it, or whether they would rather remove it entirely from the feed by muting it.

This is done because the tapestry is looking for duplicate text from the same author of multiple feeds, not necessarily word key matches.

The newer version of the app also includes a feature called QuickLinks, a shortcut to a favorite schedule or custom feed. Users can use up to four different schedules for a long time on the feed icon on the application toolbar. (These customizations are also device-specific, meaning people have the option to have different favorites on their iPhone and iPad).

Now another smaller tweak is being launched, including an easy-to-access button to refresh the feed and jump between feed positions. This is found in the left and left button menu button. Users can also customize the feed from the project’s action menu and exchange the application’s icons.

Tapestry’s app is free to download through the App Store through in-app purchases. Monthly or annual subscriptions are $1.99 or $19.99, respectively, or people can buy a lifetime pass for $79.99.
