First on Fox: The Taliban released American hostage George Glezmann on Thursday Afghanistan A diplomatic source with knowledge told Fox News Digital after negotiations between the Trump administration and Katari officials.
Glezmann left Kabul Airport on Wednesday night on his way to Doha.
The 65-year-old American was kidnapped on December 5, 2022 after Bole met with Katari officials and with officials from the Afghan Foreign Ministry.
After the Taliban took over in 2021, Qatar maintained diplomatic relations with Afghanistan, but the United States did not.

Diplomatic sources confirmed that the Taliban release was a “goodwill” as “trust” of “trust”, indicating that Qatar continues to play the role of intermediary between Washington and Kabul.
The exchange is different from the releases of two other Americans released earlier this year, including Ryan Corbett and William McKenty, who were released in the last-hour deal reached by the Biden administration in exchange for Taliban members.
