SymbyAI raises $2.1M seed to make science research easier | TechCrunch

SymbyaiThis is a SaaS platform that uses AI to simplify scientific research, announcing a $2.1 million seed round, including Drive Capital and Targinvc among others.

Launched last year by Aisha Livaudais and Michael House, the platform provides researchers with organized workspaces to access a place of papers, code, data and experience. It helps track progress and has AI-FEATURE that can help with peer review and replication.

“It should also be noted that Symbyai is built on proprietary AI solutions, so users don’t have to worry about accidentally sending confidential information to OpenAI, Anthropic, or any other company,” Livaudais told TechCrunch. “The intellectual property of the researchers remains the property of the owners and is not used to train Symbyai’s basic model.

Livaudais said she started the company after dealing with ancient systems of censorship and creation of science.

“The foundation of Symby is formed when it comes to solutions to the problems I face every day, and then realize that colleagues in the research community are looking for solutions to the exact same problem,” she said. “When we realize we can succeed, repeatedly shortening the critical research process from months to hours, the demand for production versions began to emerge from almost all of my discovery conversations.”

Symbyai works with academic publishers, research organizations and universities. Livaudais said she first participated in the GBETA program, which is part of the Gener8tor. Through the GBETA program, Livaudais is linked to her first investors, including Antler, which Livaudais said is also through investing in early stage investments in Symby, and that’s the same.

The company now plans to continue building the company and implementing the initial partnership using fresh seed capital.
