“No,” Schumer replied. “We have a lot of really strong talent in the Senate, the House, the Governor, and we have a great bench. But, as for the Senate caucus, I’m my leader, I should be the leader.”

Schumer told the co-host of The View that he is very good at winning a Senate seat.
“I’m a strategist, and I’m recruiting candidates, helping candidates run and winning. Look, it’s crucial to win in the House and Senate in 2026, which may stop Trump once and for all,” he said.
The senator compared himself to the leaders of the band.
“I’m the leader of the band, and I have a lot of talent in that band, so all I have to do is show them. We have great spokespersons, people like Chris Murphy and Brian Schatz,” he said. “I’ll tell you one thing, we’re totally united in one thing, a lot of things, but most importantly, we’re united in following Trump and showing the American people that he’s making the middle class pay tax cuts for the rich.”

“I think what you’re fighting for, too, and again I think it’s a struggle that needs to happen and it doesn’t happen because of Chuck Schumer. If you consider that, Republicans would have to have the shutdown of that administration. They have control over everything. They could have totally leaning on their backs, I’m not alone, I’m not alone.”
