Steven Taylor Doing what he is best at.
At Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, the 77-year-old rock legend is alongside Joe Perry, Yungblud and Nuno Bettencourt – The late Ozzy Osbourne Pay tribute to the emotion of “Mom, I want to go home.” This marks Tyler’s first awards show after Tyler was injured in his throat while singing on stage.

Tyler’s representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
In August 2024, air transport Announces the band to retire Taylor traveled on a tour more than 50 years after facing the injury of his voice cords.
“It was 1970, when your Blues burned flames, it’s been fifty years. Thanks to your Blues. It’s been fifty years since the beginning. Some of you have been around us since the beginning, and all of you are the reasons we make rock history.”
The statement continues: “It is an honor to our life to make our music a part of your music. At every club, every large-scale tour, you give us a place in your life at a grand and private moment. We always want to shock your thoughts when performing.”
The band then resolved the current state of Taylor’s health.
“As you know, Steven’s voice is a unique instrument. He spent months working to get his voice to his position before his injury,” the statement reads. “Although he has the best medical team, we’ve seen him struggling.
“Sadly, it’s obvious that it’s impossible for him to get hurt with his voice. We made the heartbreaking, difficult but necessary decision – as a brother band – to retire from the tour stage.”

“We thank everyone who last time we went on the road with us,” their statement continued. “Thanks to our expert crew, our incredible team, and the thousands of talented people who have made our historic run possible. Thank you in the end – the best fans on Earth. Play our music now, now and forever.”

Earlier this year Gun n’rose Drummer Matt Sorum said Tyler will not tour again despite singing at a recent charity concert.
“It was a very important moment for him because he hurt himself,” Sorum recently told WBAB Radio that Taylor performed well in the jam at the Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party, which benefited his charity Janie’s Fund. Hurt his throat last year.
“Now is he going to tour again? No, he is not, I explain that to people. Steven can’t put himself under the strictness of the global tour because it’s a lot of pressure, if you’re not a singer, then you won’t go through his experience, he’s 77 years old, but he’s the perfect person, if he’s not right, he’s all him.”
Solum added that Taylor was reluctant to pre-emphasize his voice like other artists did.

He explained: “He won’t take your money like 80% of people do.” That’s who he is. He was like, ‘I’m an artist. I am a singer. This is my band. I’ve been doing this for 50 years and if I can’t do it perfectly, I can’t do it,’I respect that. ”
