State Department spokesman Tammy Bruce said on Monday that the ball is now in the Russian court, accepting the U.S.-promoted ceasefire agreement agreed last week by Ukraine.
U.S.-backed proposals, including immediate ceasefire and guaranteed recovery U.S. Military Aid and Intelligence Ukraine made final decisions in Ukraine during diplomatic talks in Saudi Arabia last week.
“Ukraine said it was ready to accept the U.S. proposal to immediately issue a 30-day temporary ceasefire to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. The ball is now in the Russian court,” Bruce said in a State Department briefing on Trump’s second term. “After this historical meeting, secretary [of State Marco] Rubio Heading to the G7 in Canada, our partners expressed support for the rapid and lasting ending of the conflict. ”

back President Donald Trump Putin said at a press conference that the Middle East special envoy Steve Witkoff met with Russian President Vladimir Putin last week. Meanwhile, Trump’s national security adviser Michael Waltz said that “cautious optimism” may be closely linked after the meeting.
While a ceasefire appears to be coming, Russia and Ukraine still need to resolve key differences before a deal is concluded.

These include territorial integrity disputes and security assurances with negotiations with Ukraine to enter NATO (Russia says it is a non-propaganda), such as whether NATO peacekeeping forces are allowed to maintain a ceasefire in Ukraine. Potential prisoner swaps also require ironing between the two warring countries.

Trump also said controls on certain land and power plants in Ukraine will also be part of the negotiations.
