“Star Wars“Star John Boyega called out to fans, saying he was upset about his performance in the blockbuster franchise, claiming in a new documentary about black actors that some viewers don’t accept their lead role.
“Let me tell you that Star Wars always has the whitest, elite space vibe,” Boyga said in the Apple TV+ documentary, “Call No. 1 on Paper: Black Leaders in Hollywood” Weekly entertainment.
Boyega, who plays three movies in the series, said fans are not used to black protagonists because Star Wars has always been “so white”.
“This is such a white man that a black man exists [it] Yes,” he said.

The actor notes how the popular franchise serves as a handful of black actors on his cast, but some fans will use these examples to refute his argument about the lack of diversity in the series.
“When some Star Wars fans try to say, ‘Okay, we have Lando Calrissian Samuel L. Jackson (Samuel L. is like, “They are just scattered there, brother!”
Boyga further said that some fans would only accept black actors as friends in the movie.

Boyega previously opened up the online bounce he received after performing as the series’ first Black Commando British GQ Magazine In 2020, he was “the only actor who has his own unique experience based on his race.”
In the same interview, he expressed frustration At Disney To reduce the role of the characters in the final film of the trilogy, 2019’s Rise of Skywalker.

He said “What I’m going to say to Disney is not to play black characters, and to sell them in a franchise is more important than them and then push them aside.”
The new Star Wars trilogy started with 2015’s Power Awakening, followed by 2017’s The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker, making billions but splitting the franchise’s fan base.
