Rep. Ilhan Omar, Democrat of Minnesota, joined Rep. Nancy Mays on Wednesday with Rep. Nancy Mays. Charlie Kirk.
The two went back and forth on social media after Mace introduced a resolution that condemned Omar and removed him from the commission’s mission.
Omar faced a rebound from the right in an interview with progressive news outlet Zeteo, during which she criticized Kirk’s past comments and Republicans’ reaction to the shooting.
A few days after Kirk’s assassination, she told the media that he had previously “downplayed slavery and the experience of black people in this country, saying that JuneTeents did not exist.”
When asked why DEM celebrates political violence after Kirk’s death, squad members responded

“There are a lot of people talking about him just wanting to have a civil debate,” said the “squad” member. “There is nothing like pretending that his words and actions have not been recorded yet and have been around for the past decade or so.”
Metz responded to a comment from an article on X, writing: “If you celebrate the murder, maybe Somalia can bring you back.”
Omar came to the United States when he was a child From Somaliaand then answered: “I know you are bad or not smart, but I hope someone can explain to you that there is no correlation between my committee mandate and deportation.
Omar continued: “I would love to see you get the help you need next. You belong to recovery, not Congress.”

“Bring your one-way ticket with your name, Ilhan Omar,” Mess added on X.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, Omar mocked Kirk’s husband and father of two.
“Now she lashed out because we told her out. What’s not ‘good’ to celebrate political violence,” Mess said. “It’s not ‘clever’ to defend it. Omar should be ashamed of herself. Omar can throw insults all day, but that won’t save her from responsibility. She crossed the line and we won’t let her get rid of it. Back to Somalia.”
In her interview, Omar called Kirk assassination “Inexplicable”, and at the same time clarified her remarks.
