Social Security administration writes a morning email that employees can no longer read the news websites to work devices.
“SSA has implemented additional restrictions on categories of websites forbidden from the equipment provided by the government,” the email, obtained by the NBC News, began. “Effective today, March 6, 2025, the categories include: Online shopping, General News; and Sports.”
Added to email that employees can request exceptions from their supervisor.
“These additional restrictions help reduce the risk and especially protect sensitive information that our many systems,” in addition to email.
