But during his career days, Sanders’ throwing mechanics sparked debate. Sanders slapped the ball before throwing it. Former NFL quarterback Kyle Sloter believes that this could be a “problem” for the former Colorado Buffalo star.
He wrote on X: “I personally think the Shedeur Sanders have a chance to be a QB in the NFL, but boys are the problem with slapping on X. Pitching is very common, and when Shedeur starts your throwing move, Shedeur brings the ball to his free hand to slap it?!

New York Giants receiver Darius Slayton has a different view.
“I promise he can slap the ball, and if DB is so good at breaking slap, they have more than 8 draft picks every year,” Slayton wrote on social media. “The same guy fell on the concept of a 2-man dagger, giving up the third and long digs of the whole season, and a long talkin talkin bot pat pat the laughed.”
