The Senate begins Friday night’s marathon voting series, Republicans need to pass to approve their changes to House President Donald Trump’s budget plan.
The endless revision tickets began the debate for nearly a day. Republicans passed a key motion on Thursday to start the process that will vote on their adjustments to the housing Republican budget.

Democrats plan to use the ballot marathon, forcing Republicans to record in Trump’s tariffs and the action of the Department of Administration Efficiency (DOGE) led by Elon Musk.

On Thursday, the Senate agreed to a motion to vote 52 to 48 along the party.
The only exception is R-Ky. Senator Rand Paul voted against. He particularly criticized the Budget Amendment’s provisions on debt ceilings, which would raise $5 trillion.
In the last such series in February, the Senate voted for about 10 hours in the early morning. The budget they passed was the first choice for the Senate Republicans to develop two budgets on the border and resolve the dispute and extend Trump’s tax cuts.

But the House of Representatives finally won the plan to resolve both in a bill after receiving Trump’s blessing.
It is unclear how long the vote will last, as it depends on how many amendments are being voted and when Senate Democratic and Republican leaders reach a time agreement.

When the voting series ends, a final vote will be conducted to approve the Senate amendment to the Senate budget. If this passes, it still needs to return to the lower chamber before it takes effect.

In addition to raising the debt ceiling and doing so is taking leverage from Senate Democrats, the Senate Budget Amendment has made Trump’s tax cuts permanent by current policy benchmarks determined by Budget Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham RC.
