It’s a good week for anyone who likes big party speakers. Follow Samsung’s latest sound tower is here. These two new models are the ST50F and ST40F, both designed to provide music for large gatherings, indoors or outdoors.
The redesigned acoustic structure houses a dual-door tweeter equipped with Samsung’s waveguide technology, the treble curve says it provides a wider, more even sound field. These are connected by a pair of woofers, and you can adjust their output by choosing between deep, powerful, and soft bass modes. You can even further customize by choosing one of the four sound modes in standard, wide, stadium and outdoors to get the best sound balance for your environment. You will probably choose the stadium yourself.
The sound tower is more than just loud sounds. It’s an audio-visual device with visual elements provided by the Samsung Party Lights+ system, which is exactly what it sounds like. It offers five mood presets and six “dynamic lighting patterns”, and LEDs are arranged in five different areas outside the speaker to synchronize with the rhythm of the music you play. You can switch lighting mode using the updated Samsung Sound Tower app, and the speakers have built-in DJ booth and karaoke mode. You can even insert a guitar into it.
The Sound Tower ST50F has easy-to-transport wheels and telescope handles and has a battery life of up to 18 hours. Its speakers are slightly larger than the ST40F (6.5-inch vs 5.25-inch woofer), which has a handle but no wheels and only lasts 12 hours. Both speakers are IPX4 ratings that are waterproof, meaning they bring a little splash, but don’t send them to a swim.
The new Samsung tower can be purchased starting this month, with the ST50F retailing at $700 and the ST40F retailing at $500.
