sag-aftraActors League, Announced Agreement Despite a video game strike, students and game jam participants were allowed to work with union performers.
The union created a Student Interaction Waiver Agreement and a Game Jam Waiver Agreement, both of which provide video game developers with the opportunity to work with union performers.
“Through these new agreements, SAG-AFTRA can help support game developers at all levels who want to work with union talent and want to learn more about making video games under union contracts. In addition, our members are passionate about the industry and they want to be able to participate in these types of projects that are shaping the future of video games,” said Sag-Aftra National Executiation Difort exception Demaper Difors taun of Evenation.
The Student Interaction Waiver Agreement is designed for students currently participating in video game courses at an accredited educational institution, giving students the opportunity to work with SAG-AFTRA performers to meet course requirements during game development. The program must be fully documented in the United States and must be owned by a student, act as a producer or signatory, and certain other requirements are met. The Game JAM waiver agreement is designed for developers to create video games in the “Game Jam” event, and designers and programmers work together as a team to create themed video games from scratch. This item may not include material recorded before the event begins.
Under this Agreement, participants are able to work with SAG-AFTRA performers and conference fees and secondary payments will be postponed, provided that the project does not generate revenue. If the project generates revenue, SAG-AFTRA will work with the participants to sign the project into an appropriate agreement.
The two new agreements join the tiered budget, temporary and interactive localization protocols as contracts that can work safely during strikes. More than 180 games have been signed to date, and the game has signed the union’s temporary and layered video game agreement.
“With their uneasy creativity and experimental freedom, students’ projects and game jams are particularly fun and meaningful for the opportunity for developers and actors to collaborate. I’m glad these collaborations can now adapt to their union contracts, only their union contracts, so performers get the protection they need, while developers can pursue union and committee approvals in their careers, sag-agaftra interaction sag-aftra sag-aftra sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction sag-aftra interaction
