Russian crypto exchange Garantex seized by law enforcement operation | TechCrunch

The U.S. Secret Service, which works with a coalition of international law enforcement agencies, has revoked and occupied the Garantex website, a Russian cryptocurrency exchange accused of being associated with DarkNet markets and ransomware hackers.

The official Garantex website was replaced Thursday, saying the exchange’s domain name had been seized by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in an arrest warrant for Eastern Virginia.

This is the latest action taken by the Western government against the Moscow Exchange.
