Hollywood, Business and Technology Heavyweights held Saturday’s 11th Breakthrough Awards Gala in Los Angeles, bringing A-level entertainment stars and industry leaders along with outstanding figures in science and mathematics.
The Breakthrough Award is often called the “Science Oscar”, celebrating research achievements and world-class scientists. In life sciences, basic physics and mathematics, six $3 million breakthrough awards are offered to some of the world’s smartest people.

Daniel J. Drucker, Joel Habener, Jens Juul Holst, Lotte Bjerre Knudsen and Svetlana Mojsov shared groundbreaking awards in life sciences as they were used in a new era of cardiac metabolic diseases during the new GLP-1 drug period, while the awards awarded by Stephen L. Hauser and Allberto Asscherio were studied in several Breakishio awards. David R. Liu also won a breakthrough award in life sciences for developing two widely used gene editing technologies.
The Breakthrough Award in Basic Physics, which won thousands of researchers from over 70 countries, represents four experimental collaborations between CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) – Atlas, CMS, Alice, Alice and LHCB.
Dennis Gaitsgory won the Mathematics Breakthrough Award for his role in the Geotric Langlands conjecture, while Gerard’s Gerard’T Hooft won the Special Breakthrough Award in Basic Physics.
The breakthrough prize was founded by Zuckerberg, Sergey Brin, Priscilla Chen, Julia and Yuri Milner and Anne Wosiki.
