Martinsburg, West Virginia – Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Gov. Patrick Morrisey The first letters of intent to seek exemptions were signed to enable mountain states to eliminate soda from SNAP benefits eligibility.
“We’re having a public health crisis in this country, and unfortunately West Virginia is leading the way,” Kennedy said. Morrissey also signed landmark legislation banning West Virginia’s food dyes in support of Kennedy’s “Make America healthy again” agenda.
“I am very grateful Governor Morrisey Because of his visionary leadership and allowing West Virginia leadership to transition to processed food. When my uncle was president, 3% of Americans had chronic diseases and we spent zero dollars on chronic diseases in this country. No medicine [for it]. ”
Kennedy claims that the government, by contrast, spends more money on American health than the entire defense budget.

He said Congress often debates how to pay for these increased costs, rather than how to eliminate health risks and systemic issues that lead to collective health across the globe.
Morrisey praised Kennedy for attending the ceremony, noting that it proved that the “Maha” movement began in West Virginia. Barrett said when he and Del Evan Worrell (R-Barboursville) began banning food dyes and other legislation, they were warned that the special interests of food and beverages would follow them politically.
“My response to ‘big food’ and ‘big drinks’ is: Big things-the people of West Virginia deserve it.”
