Harold Rashad Dabney III, 26, was arrested on two counts of death in connection with Schnuelle’s death. Schnuelle is Emerita professor at Auburn University’s Veterinary School, which retired from 2003 to 2021, the university said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
The spokeswoman said: “The Auburn University community expresses sincere condolences to the tragic losses of Gard Schnuelle’s family and loved ones.”
Auburn University’s statement describes Schnuel as a “privileged educator.”
“She is a precious educator, mentor and colleague whose dedication to students and passion for therapeutics and veterinary medicine has had a lasting impact on Auburn,” the university said. “The legacy of Dr. Gard Schnuelle’s sympathy, scholarships and services will continue to inspire generations of veterinarians.”
